The Department of Network Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya is pleased to promote and organize the 3rd Network Engineering Day (NErD'24), a workshop on Communications Networks, Systems and Services.
The workshop will be held on July 2nd, 2024 at the Department's facilities (sala d'actes C4-001) on the UPC Campus del Baix Llobregat (Castelldefels, Barcelona) How to arrive.
This conference is primarily a face-to-face event, although it is possible to attend online at this

This is an event aimed at the scientific community in general, in which a forum will be offered to the students of the Network Engineering Department to present their works and projects, organized into four different categories. In each category, some prizes will be awarded to the best works. The four categories are the following:
- Ph.D.1: First or second year students of the Doctoral Program in Telematics Engineering.
- Ph.D.2: Students above the third year of the Doctoral Program in Telematics Engineering.
- Master: Students who complete their Master's studies during the 2023-2024 academic year. They must present their Master's Thesis.
- Bachelor's Degree: Students who complete their Bachelor's Degree studies during the 2023-2024 academic year and present their Final Degree Project.
Students can present their works within the corresponding category. The Experts Committee will select the best works to be presented during the celebration of the workshop and compete for the different prizes.

Ph.D.1 and Ph.D.2 categories
All students who are doing their doctorate in the Network Engineering doctoral program at the UPC can apply in these categories. The Committee of Experts will select the four best works in each category. The selected students will have the opportunity to present their work during the workshop (20 minutes presentation + 5 minutes questions approximately), after which the Committee will award the following prizes in each category:
- A first award consisting of 600 euros + diploma.
- A second award consisting of 400 euros + diploma.
- Two third awards consisting of 200 euros + diploma.
Master and Bachelor's Degree categories
All students who are doing and finishing their Master or Bachelor's Degree Final Project under the supervision of a professor of the department can apply in these categories. It is mandatory that the project is completed and defended during the 2023-2024 academic year (official deadline for defense 15th September 2024). The Committee of Experts will select the six best works in each category. The selected students will have the opportunity to present their work during the workshop (10 minutes), after which the Committee will award the following prizes in each category:
- A first award consisting of 200 euros + diploma.
- Three second awards consisting of a diploma.
